- Getting caught: a first water waste charge on a home is $137 on the bill, and SAWS waives it if you take a one-hour online course.
The city code covers the rest. Weeds and grass over 12 inches are a public nuisance (Sec. 14-61), and the green organics cart takes grass, leaves and yard trimmings every week, with no plastic bags.
